Forgiveness, A Lifetime Journey.
Hello out there,
A little about myself, a very confusing person and that is it in a nutshell. However, I am very caring and sometimes I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder, and this weight is not from my own issues.
I had a dream some years back, that I was on a boat with some other people and then all of a sudden, hands were reaching at us from above. Now it was very dark and the water was even darker. I decided to grab one of the hands to pull whoever this person was out of the water. But what happen, I got pulled in below and find that the water was very muddy. As I grasp for breath, I was pulled out and was save, from whatever I was pulled in below the surface. This dream has always hunt me, because even in my sleep, I hear people calling out my actually name to save them. Strange, but very real and I always ponder on the meaning of this dream.
As you have read my previous posts or just reading this one, I am on a forgiveness mantra and I am now learning a new phase of life and that is to be able to forgive. Forgiveness is not easy, I actually believe that it is harder than love. However, to be able to love or experience love, you have to be able to forgive. Forgiveness opens the door for freedom from the past, the pain, the hurt and the anger that basically drag you into an abyss of muddy waters. Anger is very unhealthy and I am a survivor of my own anger.
One evening at work, a few of us were working late in Seattle and it was very cloudy. The type of clouds that is so thick, that you can imagine yourself being envelope within them and trap for days. They were dark and the hues were a dark shaded blue and gray, as if they knew they were being photograph through many filters. Out of no where, a rainbow pierce through and would fade and return back even stronger. Those dark clouds were no match against that rainbow and anger is no mach against forgiveness. Immediately when I saw the rainbow, the first thought that came to mind was a verse in the Bible after the flood, that God would no longer destroy the acts of man and humanity. The rainbow would be a reminder that he would forgive and not allow his emotions and anger erase man, both male and female, off the face of the earth.
Right there, I understood the meaning of this rainbow, that I had to let go of my anger and forgive whom and whatever, that was keeping me below the surface of that muddy river. I don't have to carry the burden of the world on my shoulders and if I really care, I had to let go of the past and forgive in the present. I have to be honest, I don't believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, but he forgave and it freed him to continue the mission for our life today, as we embark on a journey to the Kingdom of God. When he walked the earth with his creation, the rainbow became a symbol of memory, but his sacrifice on the cross, began the journey we all have to take to be freed of our own doing and others. We have to pierce through the clouds and love one another unconditionally, but first, we must forgive ourselves and all humanity.
Forgiveness, a lifetime journey.
